About the Provider

Dr. Avais Chatha is a board-certified gastroenterologist who has been serving the North Houston community for almost a decade. With a comprehensive focus on gastrointestinal disorders, he is deeply committed to providing compassionate and thorough medical care. By attentively addressing patient concerns, he values the foundation of a strong physician-patient relationship.

Dr. Chatha's journey includes a post-doctoral research fellowship in pancreatic cancer at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard University. He furthered his training through an internship in General Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens/Weill Cornell Medical College and an Internal Medicine residency at NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island. After completing his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, he continues to excel in both diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures such as upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, and transoral incisionless fundoplication for hiatal hernia repair.

Dr. Chatha has held influential leadership roles, including President of The Harris County Medical Society's Northwest Branch and Chair of Medicine at HCA Hospital Tomball. He has passionately advocated for colon cancer awareness through appearances on multiple media platforms as an expert.

Beyond his medical pursuits, Dr. Chatha finds joy in travel, music, and cheering for the Rockets and Astros. He treasures moments spent with his wife, son, and two daughters.
